The Blues Guitar of Keb' Mo'

next

The Blues Guitar of Keb' Mo'Keb’ Mo’s lesson is aimed at players who want to get comfortable with the basics of traditional country blues and then go on to more contemporary blues-based tunes. Working in the key of E, Keb’ shows how turnarounds and harmonized scale passages can be the basis for developing fluid phrases in a Robert Johnson style blues tune. He teaches his original tunes Perpetual Blues Machine and Angelina, both in A and employing a rhythmic alternating bass style. Keb' Mo includes some jazz-oriented chords (F7b5, G13 and E11) that add spice and interest to the songs.
